2010 Terms and Conditions

1.        Your booking will be confirmed by a written acknowledgement sent to you when full payment has been received.  Payment by credit card may be made via Paypal or you can post a cheque made payable to D.S.Fitch.

2.         All payments are non-refundable, unless the voyage is cancelled by us. For Saltaire Festival Cruises there is a minimum number of paying passengers per cruise (4).  If this number has not been reached by the previous evening notification will be given by 'phone that the cruise is to be cancelled and a refund or alternative arrangements made.

3.         Up to eight passengers may be carried.  Additionally, one well-behaved dog may travel with the party. At least one adult passenger must be willing and able to provide assistance when passing through swing bridges and locks (not necessary for Saltaire Festival cruises). Please bring suitable footwear and outdoor clothing.

4.        We reserve the right to refuse a booking, or to refuse to let you or any members of your party to board the boat at any point, if, in our opinion, you/they are unfit due to alcohol or substance abuse, or appear likely to threaten the safety of the boat, pasengers or crew. In these cases no refund shall be paid.

5.        We reserve the right to cancel any cruise which, due to circumstances beyond our control, it has become impossible to carry out. In such circumstances the charter/booking fees shall be refunded in full: no further claim whatsoever shall be met.

6.        We shall not be responsible for any loss, damage, or injury to members of the chartering party or their possessions, unless negligence on our part is legally proven.

7.        Passengers are welcome to use the facilities in Lizzie-Jean's galley (kitchen) but are responsible for doing the washing up, tidying etc.  Drinks made with on-board provisions (other than the complementary "welcome drinks" served on boarding) should be paid for - the suggested cost is 50p per drink. Breakages or damage caused to the boat or its contents shall be charged on a new/replacement basis.

8.        Children under 12 years must wear buoyancy aids at all times when outside the boat cabin. These "life jackets" will be supplied.

9.         Lizzie-Jean is a traditional style narrowboat.  Unfortunately, this means that she is not suitable for wheelchair users or people with mobility difficulties – sorry!  [Please ask before booking if you are at all uncertain about mobility/access issues.]

10.     Please note: NO SMOKING is allowed anywhere on board Lizzie-Jean, but smokers may "light up" ashore when the boat stops while bridges and/or locks are being opened/closed.
