"Everyone had a fabulous day to celebrate Aunty Vi's 80th birthday.  Weather was very wet and windy, but didn't dampen our spirits.  We had two very capable men to operate the locks and bridges, and an even more capable man steering us in the right direction.  Whetted our appetites for more trips on the canal.  Thank you David for an enjoyable and hospitable day from everyone aboard Lizzie-Jean!"

"Pleased to say we all had a very enjoyable Sunday morning.  An experience none of us had done before.  We all went away with a lovely memory of our trip on the Leeds & Liverpool Canal.  Lizzie-Jean was really comfortable and our welcome drink and warm croissant was timed perfectly after our drive from home.

With champagne we toasted Dani's belated 21st, Janine's birthday and wished Bon Voyage to their trip back to Australia.  They both laughed and giggled when opening and closing the bridges - Dani's sense of humour made him put Enya's Orinoco Flow on the CD player.  I know he will have taken some great photographs and cannot wait to see them on his website . . . proving that here in Yorkshire we can more than match the other places he's been to!

Thank you so much for sharing Lizzie-Jean with us."

' We celebrated Mum' 80th birthday on Lizzie-Jean.  David, her skipper, was so friendly and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble, including birthday bunting, picking us up on the canal at the hotel, a very welcoming drink with a tasty croissant, and mooring for our 'al fresco lunch' - complete with cake stand!  We even got the chance to steer.Picnic party beside the Leeds & Liverpool Canal near Gargrave

Mum is not able to walk far so this was ideal for her.  She was able to enjoy the scenery and watch the abundant wildlife.  Mum said she felt like a Queen sitting in the bow accepting the 'Happy Birthday' greetings as other boats sailed by.

A fantastic day was had by all on LIzzie-Jean and we will certainly be back.  Thank you for a wonderful and memorable day.'

"We had a great half-day trip up the canal.  It was a first time for us and we thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience.  It was good to get involved and have a go at steering the boat and opening the bridges.  I would recommend the trip to anyone who is fancying canal boating.  A lovely boat and great skipper.  Many thanks."
