Have you ever wondered about how to steer a narrowboat, or how to take a boat through a lock?

 Maybe these questions have made you a bit uncertain about hiring a canal boat yourself and taking all the responsibility for steering, mooring, turning round etc.  And where can you stop at night?

 On Lizzie-Jean you only do what you want to do on your canal cruise - the skipper does the rest, but he'll be very happy to "teach you the ropes" if you're interested!

Skippered canal cruises on narrowboat Lizzie-Jean normally start from the centre of Skipton, on the famous Leeds  and Liverpool Canal.  You can choose either a slow, gentle cruise northwest towards the picturesque Yorkshire Dales village of Gargrave, or south to Farnhill Wood and the villages of Bradley and Kildwick.

Many thousands of visitors come to this part of North Yorkshire each year, and many are keen to have a boat trip, or take out a day boat, on the 238 year old engineering marvel that is the Leeds and Liverpool Canal.  Are you among them?
